View Article  Music is the answer
I have been so busy lately with some new things at work and some new exciting piece of hardware at home, that keeping updates on my blog became what I use to call a "chimera". Help!

I am having some serious thinking time at home, maybe it is time to move again to some warmer place, and for once I don't mean country, but flat!. Seriously it is starting to feel like an igloo down here, kinda scary thinking about the winter to come.

Fortunately I have my music with me, keeping the things going, and kinda being the metric and the soundtrack of my existence.

I was not born a Minimal tech dj. In fact, I used to do something like a human jukebox, something to please my friends at our homemade parties since when we were 13 or 14. I guess I became a dj just because I was too shy to dance and I was always fascinated by the gears that some other people were bringing to the scene.

I have always been very shy and kept myself for myself (hard to believe, innit), and so my channel became the music, as simple as that.

Italy used to suck big time over the 90s talking about serious productions. Everything was simply following a wave, nothing really original, something called "commerciale" was leading the charts, something that I started to hate very early. Our house was not really comparable to the Detroit beat or the UK charts.

I guess we saw a sort of "light" around mid 90s, when some brave pioneers brought in the Progressive. The BPMs started to go lower and lower, the silly singing left for a darker scene, as well as "dub" atmosphere alongside the tracks.

And that was the time I started applying myself seriously behind my decks.

The first decks I got were a present from my mum. 2 belt driven decks from 2 different brands, obviously no pitch control, and a Karma 5 channel mixer, nearly longer than the table at that time. Amazing.

I remember I had to mix the tracks in their vocal sequence in order to avoid the mismatch when the base started again. Something trance-y, yet funny.

I got my first 1210s for personal use in 1997, and that changed my world and the quality of my job...till the peresent days.

Despite lost friends, girls, jobs, despite everything that can happen to us in our life that make us think "there is no way out"..well..music was always there. Could have been a sweet ballad, could have been a techno tune, could have been a heavy metal song. Doesn't really matter.

Music has always been the answer, and I truly hope it is going to keep the momentum for a long while, because I am loving every second of it.

My nights, my story, my experience, my memories and my tunes.

This is going to be all about, and I really hope I will come out with something meaningful, honest.
